Authentic and atmospheric, our black & white 16th Century timber framed inn is set in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, surrounded by picturesque natural beauty of the River Lugg valley.
Sustainability and ethical sourcing is important to us for our mussels and sea fish. We also score well regarding food miles for British produce and Fair Trade sources for imports. The kitchen garden is an important ingredient in the creation of menus. Andy and his team prepare the ground, sow and reap the seasonal vegetables and fruits.
Everything is cooked freshly on site, from our garden honey, oat and yogurt soda bread to our lemon verbena ice cream. Andy is more than happy to cater for different dietary requirements and children's meals - please just mention when booking.
Groups and parties are most welcome - from 2 to 42 we can create individual menus to suit your requirements. Also should you wish to bring your dog, we have designated “dog tables” in the bar area – so please let us know if you need one, when you book.
We serve lunches from 12-2.30pm (except on Mondays) and dinner is served from 7-9pm (every evening except Sunday). On Sunday evenings we offer a bar snack menu from 5-8pm. Booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
The bar is open all day and from 5pm on Mondays.
We are open daily for breakfast or coffee from 8am, except for Mondays.
